A local employer approached us at Sheffield Private Investigator with suspicions of employee misconduct and the misuse of company property. The client held the belief that a particular employee had been using a company car for personal use and claiming back personal expenses on the vehicle. As both of these actions were a violation of the contract of the individual the client wished to confirm that his suspicions were correct to ensure that only the appropriate action was taken against the employee.
Initially checks were carried out on the individual in question to establish if he possessed any previous convictions of a similar nature which were all returned clear. Following this the client requested that the company vehicle that the individual was responsible for be followed using the GPS tracking system. When paired with the official schedule of the individual as well as confirmation of the locations he had been visiting it soon became apparent that the individual was using the vehicle beyond the confines of his contract for frequent personal use.
The client was presented with a full report of the case which included video and photographic evidence from which he proceeded to present the individual with a disciplinary notice. With this done the client was able to redistribute the vehicle to another employee in need of one saving himself and the company further expense and to ensure that all employees were working to their specified requirements.
