We received a client who came to Private Detectives in Sheffield UK because he thought he was being lied to by his wife of twenty years about her family. The client had been told by his wife that her parents had died before they met and rarely spoken of them but recently has let slip several comments about them that have raised his suspicions about what his wife has said about them. To resolve these issues the client came to us to help uncover the truth of his wife’s family and past and see whether she has been deceiving him all these years.

At the client’s request we started a search on his wifes family’s origin with the intention of discovering the true identity of her parents. Once evidence for this had been established and the target named their location could also be established. Contrary to the statements given by the client’s wife there was no indication to suggest that they had left the house she had grown up in with her siblings. After being presented with the evidence thus far collected the client asked for 6 hourly surveillance to be placed on his wife at times he suspected she could come in to contact with the family. During surveillance the two operatives witnessed the client wife visiting the home of the parents she claimed were deceased and video and photographic evidence were collected to illustrate this. Following these events the client opted to have his wife undergo a polygraph test in which she admitted to the truth.

Throughout the stages of the investigation the client had mixed feelings on the case but once the investigation had concluded and the truth had been uncovered and admitted by his wife relations were seen to improve between the couple and introductions took place between the client and his newly discovered in-laws.
