A client contacted us through Investigator Sheffield in the hope of finding out why his daughter had been avoiding him for the last six months. The family setup prior to this strange behaviour had been very traditional and close knit and though the client’s daughter lived away from her parents she visited on a regular basis. Though the daughter still communicated regularly with the client via telephone but despite his attempts to persuade her she refused to visit without reason. Perplexed by this unusual behaviour in his daughter the client asked us to try to find a reason for this change.

The investigation began with further exploration into the client’s relationship with his daughter and the events surrounding his daughter’s change in behaviour. No obvious reason for change was identified by operatives upon consulting the client but it was decided that the best way to proceed with the case would be to set up surveillance on the home of the client’s daughter. The client was originally concerned that his daughter had changed location as she no longer answered the door when they tried to visit but this soon proved not to be the case. However it soon became clear that the target was not living alone but with a man she appeared to be in a relationship with. The most surprising turn in the case came from the fact that the daughter was heavily pregnant.

We presented the client with the findings and he left a message with his daughter to tell her he knew. The daughter had hidden her pregnancy from her traditional famiy as she was unmarried and worried about their reaction. Following the investigation the family was reunited and a healthy grandson born for the client.
